Replace the spelled number with a numeral
Warning2Federal courts, Illinois courts21st and 22nd editions
Where one member of a series of numbers reaches one hundred, every member takes numeral form, giving “117, 6, and 28”, not “117, six, and twenty-eight”.1
- Wrong
- 117, six, and twenty-eight
- Right
- 117, 6, and 28
- 1R. 6.2(a)(iii) Numerals.
- 2A warning: the form is usually wrong under the rule in note 1, and context can justify it.
