A cite-check that keeps nothing.
For chambers, public defenders and agency counsel. We check the document on our server, discard it when the check is done, and send nothing to an outside service. We keep it only if you tell us to.

How your document is handled.
Read in memory, then discarded
Unless you save it, we never write any part of the document to disk; it exists only for the length of the request.
Never sent anywhere
We don't send the text to a language model, a search API or any third party. Our usage log holds counts, never text, and a test fails the build if anyone adds a column for text.
Kept only on your terms
Save a document for seven days, thirty days or until you delete it, encrypted under a key that exists only for your account.
It checks regulations and statutes, not only cases.
Agency briefs cite the C.F.R. and the U.S. Code more than they cite cases, so we check those too: the abbreviation, the section symbol, the title and section, and the year on a C.F.R. citation.
The rule behind it- Wrong
- 29 CFR 541.100 (2024).
- Right
- 29 C.F.R. § 541.100 (2024).
What comes back.
You get back the document you uploaded, with the corrections you accepted made in it and nothing else touched.

Questions
Is the document sent to an AI service?
No. Counselcite applies the Bluebook through a fixed set of checks on our own server and looks cases up in a local index. Nothing is generated and nothing leaves the server.
Can we keep documents on our own terms?
We keep a document only when the person checking it chooses to save it, for seven days, thirty days or until you delete it. Deleting the account deletes every document under it.
Can it follow our court's local citation rules?
We can add a citation profile for your court on an organization plan. Ask, and say which court.
